Marin Cilic

Renowned ATP player and coach Jonas Björkman, former world number 4 in singles and former number 1 in doubles, will join Marin’s team as coach.

Jonas Lars Bjorkman is a Swedish-born former professional tennis player with nine Grand Slam doubles titles to his name. His journey into coaching began when Andy Murray invited him to join his coaching team in 2015, and for most of the year took charge of the coaching team. Murray won his first ever clay court tournament titles thanks to Bjorkman, who has decided to pursue a career in coaching full time as Marin Cilic’s head coach.

I’m really looking forward to it. We will be working on new challenges and a new successful period in my career.
— Marin Cilic

Marin Cilic (#14, ATP Top 100) is a Croatian professional tennis player who burst onto the ATP scene when he defeated then No. 2 in the world Andy Murray in the 2009 US Open. His success at the US Open didn’t end there. Cilic won his first ever Grand Slam title at the 2014 US Open, which led to his highest ranking in the ATP Top 100 to date at No. 8. His run to the title was historic, dispatching Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych and Kei Nishikori all in straight sets, becoming just the sixth player ever to accomplish this feat. Other notable finishes include a semi-final appearance at the Australian open in 2010, and a current streak of three straight quarterfinal appearances at Wimbledon.
